Casper TNG isn’t slowing down after the biggest year of his career. Fresh off the Platinum certification of “The Market” — arguably the breakout Canadian rap record of 2025, the Toronto rapper returned on July 15 with “Trap 4 a Year II,” a sequel to the fan-favorite cut from One Helluvalife, his 2025 EP with 100Bandplan. Where the original leaned into hometown grind, this version trades familiar streets for a video shot in Thailand, pairing hard-hitting bars with visuals that feel far removed from the city that built him.
The single lands as an early marker for Draft Day, the album Casper is calling his most ambitious project yet. It’s part of a run that’s included a Rolling Stone Canada Future of Music nod and the launch of PuzzL Music Collective, his own venture aimed at developing new artists. None of that seems to have softened his edge, “Trap 4 a Year II” keeps the same hunger and street-level storytelling that built his reputation in the first place, just with a bigger stage under it now.
